Sun Frontier Hotel Management Co., Ltd. will debut its new Hiyori Terrace brand with the opening of Hiyori Terrace Karuizawa Spa & Resort in March 2028.
The 81‑room property will be the company’s first in the Karuizawa area of Nagano Prefecture.

The hotel will be located near the intersection of Route 18 Bypass and Prince Street, a 10‑minute drive from the Usui‑Karuizawa Interchange on the Joshinetsu Expressway and eight minutes by car from Karuizawa Station.

The two‑storey reinforced concrete building will cover 2,983.62 square meters on a 5,075.40‑square‑meter site.
Designed under the concept “Your Karuizawa with a view of Mount Asama,” the hotel will feature natural materials in a minimalist style. The lobby lounge will include a terrace overlooking Mount Asama and a fireplace in the ASAMAYAMA TERRACE lounge.

Guest rooms will come in double, twin, and triple layouts with quality beds, sofas, tables, and large windows framing forest views. The hotel will accommodate both leisure and work‑away stays.
Bath facilities will use artificial hot spring water sourced from the Manza Onsen region. The men’s bath will include a sauna and a cold bath.

The women’s bath will feature a “silky bath,” also known as a micro-bubble or white ion bath. This bath generates an abundance of ultra-fine, milky white bubbles that create a soft, silky texture on the skin. The bubbles, smaller than regular air bubbles, are produced by infusing air into the water through special nozzles.
The experience is popular for its beautifying effect and is also believed to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and help the body feel warmer.
A relaxation area with massage chairs and complimentary refreshments will also be available.
Dining will be offered at the Forest Garden Terrace restaurant, which will have a fire pit and terrace seating. Breakfast will feature locally sourced vegetables and regional ingredients. Parking for 81 cars and laundry facilities will also be provided.
Hiyori Terrace will represent an upper tier above Sun Frontier’s Hiyori Hotel line and will reflect the company’s strategy to expand hotel operations that support regional tourism and revitalization.
