Rosewood to make Tokyo debut in Roppongi 5-Chome West redevelopment

Rosewood will make its Tokyo debut as the hotel operator for the Roppongi 5-Chome West redevelopment, one of central Tokyo’s largest mixed-use projects.
Mori Building and Sumitomo Realty & Development announced on May 15 that Rosewood has been selected to operate the hotel planned for the Roppongi 5-Chome West District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, in which the two companies are participating as project partners.

The hotel will occupy the uppermost floors of the redevelopment’s main tower, which is planned to rise approximately 330 meters. It will include 200 guest rooms, multiple dining venues, banquet facilities, a spa and other amenities.
Rosewood is a global luxury hotel operator with 43 properties across 25 countries. The Roppongi hotel will be the brand’s first property in Tokyo, adding another international luxury hotel name to the capital’s high-end hospitality market.
The broader Roppongi 5-Chome West redevelopment is planned to have a total floor area of approximately 1 million square meters. In addition to the hotel, the district is expected to include offices, residences, retail facilities, a school, cultural facilities and a hall.
After the hotel opens, the developers plan to link Rosewood with event halls and conference facilities within the redevelopment, strengthening the district’s ability to host meetings, conferences and other business events. The project is expected to further reinforce Roppongi’s role as a hub for business, culture, hospitality and urban tourism in central Tokyo.
