Mitsui Fudosan will open a shared office and co-creation base at New Chitose Airport in August, positioning the facility at the center of Hokkaido’s expanding semiconductor cluster, as Chitose emerges as one of Japan’s key semiconductor nodes.

The project, branded RISE GATE NEW CHITOSE AIRPORT, will be located on the third floor of the domestic terminal and developed in partnership with RISE-A. It is designed as a low-friction entry point for companies - including Rapidus and related suppliers - seeking to establish a presence in the region.
Set to open in August 2026, the facility marks both the first RISE GATE location outside Tokyo and the first deployment of Mitsui Fudosan’s Workstyling within an airport environment.
A Gateway for Market Entry and Expansion
The hub is positioned as a “first office” for companies entering Hokkaido, offering serviced workspace for teams of one to 11 people with corporate registration permitted. The setup enables firms to quickly establish an operational foothold while maintaining flexibility as they transition from short-term projects to longer-term expansion.
This model reflects growing demand for agile office solutions in emerging regional markets, where initial market entry often precedes permanent investment.
Integrated Workspace Designed for Mobility and Collaboration
Located within one of Hokkaido’s primary transport hubs, the facility is designed to support both business travel and day-to-day operations in a single environment.
The space combines multiple formats, including:
Mitsui Fudosan’s corporate shared office service Workstyling
Time-based workspace Share Lounge operated by Culture Convenience Club
A semiconductor-focused community platform led by RISE-A
Together, these components create a flexible workspace supporting meetings, focused work, and informal collaboration.
Beyond office functions, the facility includes lounge and event space aimed at fostering connections among semiconductor companies, researchers, and local stakeholders.
Positioned as more than just a workspace, the hub functions as a collaboration platform bringing together suppliers, users, academia, and government to support industry development.
Expanding a National Semiconductor Ecosystem
The New Chitose project forms part of a broader strategy by Mitsui Fudosan and RISE-A to develop a nationwide semiconductor ecosystem through interconnected hubs.
Following the launch of RISE GATE Nihonbashi, this marks the first expansion beyond Tokyo, extending that network into regional Japan and reinforcing Chitose’s role in the country’s next-generation industrial landscape.
