Patience Capital Group reinforces Myoko Kogen vision in address to Rotary Club leaders

Patience Capital Group (PCG) CEO Ken Chan has placed sustained local engagement at the center of the company's plans for Myoko Kogen, telling regional business and community representatives that building a major tourism destination requires understanding and support from the communities surrounding it.
Speaking to approximately 170 Rotary Club members from the greater Jyoetsu region at a meeting on October 3, Chan discussed the importance of maintaining dialogue with residents as PCG advances its large-scale resort development in Niigata Prefecture.

One introduction is not enough to establish meaningful communication, he said. Communities have their own characteristics, and building relationships requires continued interaction and mutual understanding.
His remarks point to an ambition that reaches beyond the hotels and commercial facilities being developed at Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort.
Chan envisions Myoko as part of a wider tourism destination connecting Jyoetsu, Takada, and surrounding areas. Realizing that vision, he explained, will require drawing together attractions across the region and gaining the support of local communities.

The address, delivered at an intercity meeting organized by the Takada East Rotary Club, brought that message directly to representatives of the region's business and civic networks.
The response also reflected local expectations. One attendee welcomed Chan's emphasis on developing Myoko through continued dialogue. Another expressed hope that investment could help bring new opportunities to an area facing population decline.
In September, PCG helped bring the Golden Trail World Series to Myoko, attracting international athletes and recreational runners to the area. The event also involved local businesses and supported PCG's efforts to promote tourism beyond the winter ski season.
Cooperation is also taking place through the Myoko Suginohara Mountain Resort Development Regional Revitalization Council, which connects the development with regional organizations and public-sector stakeholders.
The council met in July 2025 and again in June 2026, according to Niigata Prefecture. Both meetings included updates from PCG and discussions of initiatives intended to link the resort investment with wider regional development.
Chan has maintained a personal role in those relationships. In a September 30 interview with UX Niigata, he said he visits Myoko two or three times a month, combining attention to construction progress with engagement with local people.
These activities give substance to the approach Chan described to Rotary members: developing the resort while building connections with the communities expected to share in its future.
With the first luxury hotel targeting an opening in fiscal 2028, PCG's longer-term ambitions depend not only on what is built at Myoko Suginohara, but also on how effectively the development becomes connected to the wider region.
