Patience Capital Group brings Madarao Mountain Resort into Ikon Pass network

Patience Capital Group (PCG) is adding Madarao Mountain Resort to the Ikon Pass for the 2026-27 winter season, bringing a second resort in its Madarao-Myoko portfolio onto the international multi-resort network in consecutive seasons.

PCG has also been expanding international hotel infrastructure across Madarao and Myoko, making the latest Ikon Pass addition part of a broader regional tourism strategy rather than a standalone ski partnership.

Ikon Pass operator Alterra Mountain Company announced Madarao as one of three new Asian destinations for 2026-27, alongside Beidahu Ski Resort and Lake Songhua Resort in China.
Full Ikon Pass holders will receive seven days at Madarao, while Ikon Base Pass holders will receive five days, with no blackout dates.
The additions expand Ikon Pass access to 14 destinations across Japan, China and South Korea.
Two PCG resorts now connected to Ikon Pass
Madarao Mountain Resort, in northern Nagano Prefecture near the Niigata border, is known particularly for natural powder and lift-accessed tree skiing.
The resort promotes its extensive ungroomed terrain and designated tree-skiing courses as major attractions for winter visitors.
Its addition to Ikon Pass comes one season after Myoko Suginohara joined the network.
Myoko Suginohara averages more than 13 meters of natural snowfall annually and has an 8.5-kilometer run and a vertical drop exceeding 1,100 meters.
Ikon Pass currently lists the resort at 13.4 meters of average annual snowfall and a 1,124-meter vertical drop.

When announcing that partnership, PCG described it as part of a wider strategy encompassing sustainable tourism development, community revitalization and the creation of a regional resort ecosystem.
Madarao joining the same international pass a year later makes the regional dimension of that strategy more visible.
Rather than promoting Myoko Suginohara and Madarao solely as individual ski areas, PCG is increasingly positioning its investments across the neighboring destinations as components of a larger mountain tourism market.
PCG Founder and CEO Ken Chan said Madarao has the terrain and snowfall to compete among major powder destinations and described its Ikon Pass membership as another step toward establishing the wider region as one of the world’s leading mountain destinations.
He specifically linked Madarao with Myoko Suginohara and said the strategy reflects PCG’s commitment to sustainable tourism development, community revitalization and creation of a “vibrant regional resort ecosystem.”
