Located in Tokyo’s Minato Ward, the 200-room hotel marks the second JW Marriott in Japan, following the brand’s debut in Nara.

Dining, Wellness, and Amenities

The hotel features seven restaurants and bars, including a Kaiseki Japanese restaurant, a modern Mediterranean dining concept, and a croissant bar. Guests also have access to an indoor pool offering panoramic city views including Tokyo Tower, a spa, and a 24-hour fitness center.

Strong Start Since Opening

The JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo officially opened on October 2 and has reported strong early performance, with robust occupancy and booking levels. Nearly 70% of guests are from overseas, primarily from the United States.

Remarks from Opening Ceremony

During the opening ceremony on October 23, Anthony Capuano, President and CEO of Marriott International, praised the location’s connectivity and significance:

“Takanawa Gateway offers excellent access to key destinations such as Shinagawa Station and Haneda Airport. It is also a hub of innovation and culture that embodies the future of Tokyo,” Capuano said.

Yoichi Kise, President and CEO of JR East, expressed high expectations for the new property:

“We hope that JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo will enhance the appeal of Takanawa Gateway by offering visitors from Japan and abroad an exceptional experience found only in this district,” Kise said.
