Daiwa House announces short-term stay friendly Mondomio development expansion

On September 4^th, Daiwa House Industry announced the firm is expanding its Mondomio condominium series after strong sales of its initial projects in Sapporo and Okinawa.

The Mondomio brand has floors within the developments dedicated for flexible use, allowing owners to live in their units or rent them out for up to 180 days per year under Japan’s short-term rental regulations.

Since 2019, the company has supplied a total of six Mondomio properties in Hokkaido and Okinawa with plans to add three more.

The developer is also considering future Mondomio projects in Fukuoka and Osaka Prefectures. However, the company notes that short-term rental operations in Osaka City, a designated special zone for minpaku, have faced operational challenges.

To address this, Daiwa House will work with its group condominium management company, Daiwa LifeNext, to develop procedures to further comply with local regulations.

Mondomio Sapporo Odori Minami-Nijo
