Canopy by Hilton Tokyo Akasaka to open in 2028

On April 25th, Hilton announced they will open Canopy by Hilton Tokyo Akasaka - Hilton's first Canopy-branded hotel in the Greater Tokyo area - in 2028, in partnership with Mitsubishi Estate and TBS Holdings.

The hotel will feature 174 guest rooms. The Akasaka hotel will mark the third Canopy by Hilton property in Japan; the first two being Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda which opened in September 2024, and Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyakojima Resort which is scheduled to open in spring of 2026.

The Canopy by Hilton Tokyo Akasaka will open within a new mixed-use complex under development in the west block of the Akasaka 2-chome and 6-chome redevelopment project.

Led by Mitsubishi Estate and TBS, the project includes offices, retail facilities, a theater, and an event hall, in addition to the hotel. Directly connected to Akasaka Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, the site spans 5,415 square meters and will consist of 18 above-ground floors and three below-ground floors.
The hotel will occupy the 7th through 18th floors.
Guest rooms will average around 31 square meters, with 24 suites available. Amenities will include a restaurant and bar, a terrace café overlooking Akasaka, a 77-square-meter meeting lounge, and a 24-hour fitness center.
Construction is scheduled for completion in March 2028, with Canopy by Hilton Tokyo Akasaka expected to open later that year.
