AtHome tops 2025 GMO customer satisfaction Under 29 ranking for rental sites

Dominant residential leasing property portal AtHome announced on October 30 that its flagship AtHome property site ranked first among rental platforms for users aged 29 and under in the 2025 GMO Customer Satisfaction Rankings.

The nationwide online survey evaluated satisfaction with 12 major rental listing services.

Why does this matter? This age bracket is the prime target tenant for under 30 square meter rental units in Japan’s major urban areas.  As an owner, knowing what online services they want to use is key for helping keep rental units full.

Respondents were men and women aged 18 to 84 who had searched for properties through such sites within the past three years and subsequently signed and moved into a lease agreement.

Conducted from July 3 to August 18, 2025, the study collected responses from 2,944 participants.

The At Home platform achieved the top overall score of 72.16 points and ranked first in all five evaluated categories: ease of use, search convenience, property information depth, quality of campaigns, and ease of inquiry.

The site features detailed property photos, agent recommendations, and themed content such as “Finding Homes Near Japan’s Surfing Spots” and “Choosing a Home for Remote Work.” Its user-focused design, intuitive search functions, and extensive property listings earned high praise in the survey.

The GMO Customer Satisfaction Rankings are published annually and benchmark user satisfaction across major digital services in Japan.
